Support for Caregivers

Providing Respite Care for Cancer Caregivers

Gilda’s Club Metro Detroit (GCMD) and Lori’s Hands (LH) are partnering to launch an innovative caregiver respite program to support caregivers of those facing cancer (ages 55+) in Metro Detroit. This three part initiative includes the following care pillars:

○ GC+LH via Phone: One-on-one phone support and resource navigation for caregivers (Launching March 2025)

○ GC+LH for Dinner: Educational community dinners bringing caregivers together with a supportive community for shared learning and connection (Launching May 2025)

○ GC+LH at Home: In-home caregiving support through weekly visits from Lori’s Hands students (Launching September 2025)
